A new elementary school, 2 lakes, 120 park acres, 3.2 miles of trails, adjacency to an outdoor shopping center, creative planning, and native landscaping come together to make Shadow Lake a wonderful neighborhood. A housing community in Papillion, Nebraska, Shadow Lake is a centerpiece of residential development. The outstanding natural features of this site and the potential for creating an all-encompassing neighborhood were recognized early in the planning stages by the project team.
The City of Gardner, Kansas has experienced one of the highest growth rates in the state of Kansas, with its population more than doubling in the past ten years. When sufficient water supply became an issue for the community, they turned to Larkin Lamp Rynearson for a solution that would accommodate this and future growth. Our work with the community over the years includes developing a second source of water at nearby Hillsdale Lake, updating Gardner’s Water System Study, and recently designing an expansion for the Hillsdale Lake intake and treatment plant, with the existing facilities remaining in service during construction. The expansion was done as a design build project to shorten the project development period.
