Shadow Lake Community Planning and Design

A new elementary school, 2 lakes, 120 park acres, 3.2 miles of trails, adjacency to an outdoor shopping center, creative planning, and native landscaping come together to make Shadow Lake a wonderful neighborhood. A housing community in Papillion, Nebraska, Shadow Lake is a centerpiece of residential development. The outstanding natural features of this site and the potential for creating an all-encompassing neighborhood were recognized early in the planning stages by the project team.

Riverfront Redevelopment and Century Link Center Infrastructure

When the City of Omaha was ready to update its image and revitalize its river “front door”, it selected Lamp Rynearson for design and construction administration services for infrastructure improvements. The $281 million Omaha convention center/arena and riverfront redevelopment is now a destination for Omaha’s citizens and its visitors. As a leader and coordinator of the multi-disciplined design team, Lamp Rynearson developed a Master Plan for the 120-acre site and surrounding redevelopment areas.

Omaha South High School Collin Stadium

Omaha South High School had not hosted a varsity football game since 1946. Collin Field, known as “The Hole”, sat in a natural bowl at 23rd and “L” Streets and was used as South High’s track and practice football field. Lamp Rynearson provided engineering design services for a new multi-sport playing field and track stadium to replace the existing one. Goal: Design a full-sized soccer field meeting the requirements of the annual Nebraska State High School Soccer Tournament that could also be used as a varsity football field. The completed facility has had a major impact on Omaha South High School, located in a neighborhood rich in Hispanic culture, while at the same time providing meaningful social, economic and sustainable design benefits.

Midtown Crossing

Midtown Crossing is a $300 million redevelopment on the Mutual of Omaha campus and a nationally recognized award winning project. This project transformed a neighborhood and corporate campus, creating a catalyst for future area growth. Lamp Rynearson was brought onboard at the project’s earliest stages by the developer, ECI Development Services, to work with the owner, Mutual of Omaha. Challenges of this unique project included working in and between two of Omaha’s busiest street corridors, Dodge and Farnam. Sewer separation, 100-plus year old utilities, aggressive schedules, and the site logistics involved with building a project of this size were some of the obstacles the Lamp Rynearson team overcame.

Grace Pointe Continuing Care Community

The design of the facility was done in response to resident, patient, and family preferences to be in an environment that supports client dignity and privacy. Lamp Rynearson prepared civil design plans approved by the City of Greeley and the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Work included preparation of the site layout, grading, storm drainage, water, sewer, erosion control, overall utility plans and applicable construction details. Construction staking and construction administration services in accordance with HUD guidelines were provided for this project.

Capitol District

Capitol District is a new mixed-use entertainment district being constructed in downtown Omaha. Located adjacent to the Centurylink Center, this project will be the first designated entertainment district in the City of Omaha, providing a vibrant dining and entertainment destination including community activities, concerts, and events year-round.

The development includes a hotel, apartments, retail and office buildings, and a parking garage. At the center of the development is a large central plaza that will host restaurant patios, a stage, fountain, and unique landscape and hardscape amenities.

Lamp Rynearson’s responsibilities on the project included platting, traffic studies, site design, construction administration, and stormwater management, as well as coordination with the City of Omaha, utility companies, and several design professionals.

Aksarben Village

Situated in the heart of Omaha, Aksarben Village is a mixed-use redevelopment, incorporating the principles of new urbanism. Residential, office, retail, entertainment, and recreation all converge to make this project a positive addition to the Omaha metropolitan community. Lamp Rynearson was a key consultant to the owner in the development of Aksarben Village. Our responsibilities included infrastructure feasibility studies, platting, demolition and site grading, design and construction administration for storm sewers, and paving and utility coordination. Lamp Rynearson delivered on large and complex tasks including hydrologic/hydraulic analysis of the Papillion Creek, and the design of the trunk sewers and outlet structures.
