Work Here. Grow Here.
A critical focus area for our strategic plan is developing the heart of our business – our employees! We have many amazing employees who celebrate “milestone” work anniversaries throughout the year. Check out the #WorkHereGrowHere features that highlight our staff, what they do, and why we love them.
It’s no surprise Paul Gargarella is proud of the progress he has made in the past year in the role of project designer at Lamp Rynearson. As a “huge fan” of Colorado, Paul enjoys hiking in the mountains and knows how to ascend to great heights! But he doesn’t feel like he needs to climb solo. Paul enjoys the sense of teamwork that he experiences every day in his position. Congratulations on your first anniversary, Paul! #WorkHereGrowHere
A catalyst for excellence, our president – Nancy Pridal – is a builder by nature. Over 20 years at Lamp Rynearson, Nancy has built great projects that improve communities and great teams of bright and talented individuals. These accomplishments come with stories to tell! Although it wasn’t so amusing at the time, Nancy now smiles when she shares the memory of being a young engineer and getting her new truck stuck on a construction site. The contractor wouldn’t tow Nancy out until he took a picture of her standing in the mud by the truck! Keeping her own experiences in mind is how Nancy strikes the right balance between coaching and letting her employees learn to fly. Happy 20-year work anniversary, Nancy! We look forward to soaring into the future on the wings of your leadership! #WorkHereGrowHere
Employees with a competitive spirit keep our team driven. Project Engineer Greg Van Patten falls into this category. He views each day as an opportunity to make a sizable contribution to Lamp Rynearson and keep clients happy. My friends, Greg does not fail to deliver. Being well-organized allows him to cover a lot of ground. In fact, he provided construction observation on four project sites at one time, found office time to complete design work on multiple projects, AND planned a wedding with his wife in the first year of employment. Having made quite the positive impact since he started, we look forward to the efficiency he’ll continue to bring in the years to come! Cheers to your first-year anniversary, Greg! #WorkHereGrowHere
Great bosses and coworkers help us grow. Autumn Schleicher has experienced just that as she works hard to become a more diverse engineer at Lamp Rynearson. Surrounded by industry leading peers, Autumn absorbs a variety of knowledge that feeds her desire to learn. Expanding her knowledge doesn’t only happen within the office walls. By day Autumn is out in the field to survey conditions along a brambling creek. By night Autumn attends company networking events, like Shrimp Bingo, to strengthen relationships with clients. The way she embraces all activities as growth opportunities is truly inspiring! Congrats on your one year anniversary, Autumn! #WorkHereGrowHere
Eager to make a positive impact on the environment, Clark Thompson joined Larkin Associates, now Larkin Lamp Rynearson, in 1973. Since then he has served in a variety of roles, from associate to president of Larkin Group in 1992. No matter his title, Clark has used his environmental passion to design some of the most significant advanced water and wastewater treatment plants in Missouri, including the first pressure sewer system in the region. Forty-five years later, Clark now thrives in a mentoring role for our design teams and was crucial in the transition of Larkin Group to Larkin Lamp Rynearson. Clark is thankful for his time here and the opportunity to help other young engineers grow within the company. To celebrate his tenure, he’s planed a trip to get some rest and recovery! Paris now calls his name as he hopes to return to the Seine and ride the shuttle boat all day and into the night, enjoying the art, architecture, and history. A vacation well deserved for a man who continues to put his heart into Larkin Lamp Rynearson. Happy 45th Anniversary, Clark! #WorkHereGrowHere
A decade down the road, Lamp Rynearson has developed a robust technology infrastructure because of hiring IT Manager Tim Willett! He keeps us on the cutting edge of using new systems to better serve our clients. Originally attracted to the opportunity to work for a small business, Tim has grown with Lamp Rynearson over the years and has been instrumental in connecting our four offices across three states. What hasn’t changed is being employee owned, which he finds rewarding! Congratulations on your 10-year anniversary, Tim! #WorkHereGrowHere
Partaking as the lead engineer in the creation of Midtown Crossing is the feather in Project Manager Pat Hillyer’s cap after 15 years at Lamp Rynearson. Literally midtown Omaha, this development is the vibrant heart of a city that is home to Fortune 500 companies. Continuing to execute community changing projects and contribute to Lamp Rynearson’s great reputation is what Pat looks forward to every day, and what attracted him to work here in the first place. Because of his excellent work, Pat was invited to become a company stockholder. Investor and leader, cheers to Pat celebrating 15 years contributing to our team in many capacities! #WorkHereGrowHere
A year ago, our team was fortunate to add Jon Carrell as a survey project manager! He knew a few people working at Lamp Rynearson and took the leap to further his career. Every day is different in his shoes – each project is an opportunity for new experiences and challenges. Having a team he trusts and can create solutions with is what keeps Jon coming back for more! We sure are grateful for that! #WorkHereGrowHere
Jorie Creel celebrated her first work anniversary! It’s been a dream to have her as a survey technician on the team! She has a vision for efficiency, and creates templates that save us time and clients’ money. Who doesn’t love that!? Her best work experience since joining the Lamp Rynearson team was creating a GIS data base for one of our oil and gas clients. We look forward to seeing Jorie grow in her position at Lamp Rynearson! #WorkHereGrowHere
Straight out of college, an opportunistic engineer named Joe Flaxbeard came to work for Lamp Rynearson. Over the past decade, Joe has brought enthusiasm to community-changing projects in the Omaha area where he grew up. He helped transform a neighborhood into something better than what he had known as a boy. Because of his influence in dozens of successful outcomes, he was the 2014 recipient of the ACEC Young Professional Award. Be opportunistic like Joe, check out our openings today. You might get lucky enough to work with him, like Lamp Rynearson! #WorkHereGrowHere
What you learn in the classroom CAN change your life! So, listen up! That’s how Project Engineer Mainor Martinez landed at Lamp Rynearson, where he recently celebrated his one-year anniversary. Lamp Rynearson caught Mainor’s attention in one of his undergraduate classes when we presented our work on some pretty neat projects. Shortly after, he applied for and received an internship, which turned into a fulltime gig after he graduated! Mainor approaches his work with the mindset of “even the smallest contribution I may make to a project is crucial to its completion”. This strong sense of dedication and pride doesn’t go unnoticed, and we are certain there are BIG opportunities ahead for this young professional! In fact, he already had the opportunity to draft his first design at the Eppley Airfield in Omaha! Congratulations, Mainor! #WorkHereGrowHere
Proud of the positive feedback often received from municipal project managers, Jamie McMurry is driven to learn new design approaches and programs. Jamie’s 15 years as a project designer with Larkin Lamp Rynearson enable him to work on an assortment of projects with little assistance, although he enjoys the friendly, close-knit work atmosphere of our company. Drawn to work for our firm in part because of a great benefits package, Jamie is happy to use his vacation time to revisit his favorite destination, Yellowstone National Park, with his family.
Vice President and Board Member Joe Oetken celebrated his 20-year anniversary with Lamp Rynearson! Joe loves problem solving, his fellow employees, and working with contractors to get things done. The only other place he’d rather be is Kauai, Hawaii… we don’t blame him! #WorkHereGrowHere
Congratulations to Michael Sharp for celebrating his 1 year anniversary at Lamp Rynearson! As a senior landscape architect, he creates beautiful places that focus on the health, safety, and welfare of the public. Over the past year, he has worked on a large variety of projects that are already being constructed throughout the Omaha community, most notably Pier 15, The Landing at CUMC, and the Capitol District. Well done, Michael! #WorkHereGrowHere
As a senior project engineer, Scott Oswald has helped bring African grasslands and Alaskan adventures to life during his ten years at Lamp Rynearson. In addition to crafting zoo exhibits, he designs athletic complexes, street improvements, and storm sewer upgrades. Variety is a part of Scott’s daily routine. It’s the driver of growth in his career, and for the company, which has expanded from one to four offices during Scott’s tenure. You sure have seen a done a lot in the last decade – congratulations on your work anniversary! #WorkHereGrowHere

Happy one year anniversary, Cheryl! #WorkHereGrowHere
We love diversity at Lamp Rynearson, and Kim Shanahan does too! That’s what attracted her to begin working with us as a project coordinator a year ago. She is now our organizational development guru. Kim works on variety of projects with an assortment of great people. She enjoys diversity in other parts of her life too! Growing up in Wyoming, her heart belongs to the mountains where she does many different activities – camping, fishing, and hunting just to name a few! Congratulations on your first anniversary, Kim! We appreciate the vibrancy you bring to our team! #WorkHereGrowHere
Happy one year anniversary to Caleb Van Weelden! Word of mouth brought this hard worker to our team. In his role as a project engineer, his time is spent on helping bring large and complex projects to life! There is nothing that makes him feel more accomplished than submitting plans after putting a lot of effort into the site design. Although the best part of his week is being a Teammates Mentor, where he gets spend time playing games or just talking about life with a local student. #WorkHereGrowHere
